A comparable written proposal
Ask the proposal to identify the cargo list used, FCL or LCL arrangement, collection point, destination handover and included handling. Keep origin, international and destination charges visible. A lower ocean-freight line is not enough to compare proposals that end at different places.
Loading and collection responsibilities
Name who loads at origin, who supplies any required equipment and who collects at destination. If you arrange the final truck yourself, obtain the collection instructions and receiving contact before booking it. Ask which storage or waiting costs depend on the actual handover date.
A route update you can act on
For each update, request the changed milestone, its date status and the next action owner. Keep cargo receipt, departure, arrival and availability for collection separate. If cargo quantities or packing change, confirm whether the booking and quotation must be revised before release.

When should I request both FCL and LCL?
Request both when the packing or shipment size leaves the choice open. Compare the complete quoted amount, handling, loading and delivery arrangements using the same cargo list.
Can suppliers send goods separately?
Share each order reference and arrival estimate first. Agree receiving identification, the consolidation cutoff and what happens if one supplier is late.
Does port arrival mean my goods are ready to collect?
Ask separately about discharge, document release, import clearance and collection availability. Use the confirmed handover instructions before booking your receiving transport.
